The superbly designed Hotel 21 Cakov-Makara is located close to the centre of Bratislava, next to the Tehelne pole stadium and offers you easy access to the old town by bus and tram. It was designed, built and is now owned by one of the most prestigious architectural ateliers in Slovakia, called Cakov-Makara. Kenton and Steph06.09.2009 - The hotel was fantastic. Excellent quality for the money. Staff were very helpful. Rooms were very cool. The receptionist took us to each room and let us decide which one we wanted. We stayed in the Black Rich room (amazing) and our only small complaint was the lack of an actual shower. Just a bath tub with a shower head. But the mirror above the bed made up for it...;) The only real disadvantage with the hotel was the location. It's not walking distance to the city center. But Bratislava is so small that it is a 5 min drive. It's about a 5 euro cab ride. We had a rental car so we drove each day. The one nice thing about being out of the city center is we could park our car for free at the hotel. The breakfasts were excellent. Best croissant outside of France. Overall we will definitely stay there again next time we are in Bratislava and recommend to our friends. Truly a unique experience.
